AFC Bournemouth duo Adam Smith and Marcus Tavernier could be ready to hand Andoni Iraola a major boost after taking further steps on the comeback trail.
Defender Smith and frontman Tavernier have both resumed light training having missed the first four games of the season due to injury.
Smith and Tavernier were involved as Iraola’s squad were put through their paces during a training session ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brentford.
The Cherries face the Bees fresh from booking a place in the third round of the Carabao Cup after beating Swansea City 3-2 on Tuesday.
Having secured his first victory as Cherries head coach in South Wales, Iraola will now be looking for a first Premier League win against unbeaten Brentford.
