New recruits Neto and Marcos Senesi were involved as AFC Bournemouth continued preparations for their trip to Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday.

The South American duo, who joined the Cherries earlier this month, were put through their paces during an intense training session in the searing heat at Vitality Stadium.

As temperatures reached 30 degrees in Bournemouth, the heatwave helped keep the players acclimatised ahead of what is going to be another scorcher at City’s Etihad Stadium.

With temperatures set to remain high across the country this weekend, possibly reaching 37 degrees in some places, the Premier League have implemented drinks breaks for all fixtures.

Cherries head coach Scott Parker said he was pleased with how both Neto and Senesi had settled in following their respective moves from Barcelona and Feyenoord.

Parker also confirmed fellow new signings Ryan Fredericks and Joe Rothwell would both miss the trip to Manchester due to injury.
