First-half goals from Joao Moutinho and Raul Jimenez gave Wolves a 2-0 lead at the interval.
The Cherries were also a man down at the break after skipper Simon Francis had seen red for collecting two bookings in the opening period.
And although Steve Cook halved the deficit when he headed home a Ryan Fraser corner in the 59th minute, the Cherries were unable to fashion an equaliser.
