Emil Riis Jakobsen's late goal condemned the Cherries to defeat at Deepdale on Saturday.

Scott Parker's side came into the game on a run of four wins in a row, including last-gasp victories over Blackpool and Stoke City.

Jamal Lowe had netted in both those wins and continued his fine run in front of goal with a well-taken finish from close range early in the second half.

Cameron Archer, who'd been a threat throughout the encounter, equalised just two minutes later with a low effort that crept in off Travers's left-hand post.

Nat Phillips went close to securing another win in the latter stages of the game with an excellent header requiring an outstanding save by Preston's Daniel Iversen.

That save proved to be massive as substitute Riis Jakobsen subsequently drilled into the bottom corner on 89 minutes, as Scott Parker and Adam Smith saw red on the touchline.
