A stirring second-half comeback earned AFC Bournemouth a share of the points from an absorbing 2-2 draw with Premier League counterparts Sheffield United on Saturday.

Andoni Iraola’s team reached the break trailing to Gustavo Hamer’s 27th-minute goal which came after Dom Solanke had slipped and missed a 14th-minute penalty.

Blades skipper Jack Robinson bagged his first goal of the season when he prodded home Hamer’s corner to double their lead midway through the second half.

Solanke had an effort ruled out by VAR for handball before substitute Dango Ouattara met Ryan Christie’s 74th-minute corner with a powerful near-post header to make it 2-1.

As the Cherries poured forward in search of an equaliser, some defiant defending from the visitors thwarted them.

However, in the first minute of added time, Alex Scott’s corner led to the Cherries netting a dramatic leveller through Enes Ünal.

Although his header from Scott’s delivery was cleared off the line, Chris Mepham was on hand to hook the loose ball back into the danger zone.

And after Ouattara had again risen to outjump the Blades defence and flicked on the ball, Ünal was perfectly positioned to guide it into the back of the net to send home fans inside Vitality Stadium into raptures.
