Five point preview: Napoli

The Napoli squad line up ahead of a game in the Audi Cup 2017 in Munich.

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth complete their pre-season schedule with a match against European heavyweights Napoli on Sunday evening.

The Gli Azzurri touchdown

Napoli arrived in Dorset on Friday morning with their array of footballing stars ahead of a warm up session at the Cherries' training centre on Friday afternoon.

The Italian giants last season finished third in Serie A, as well as reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League - where they lost to eventual champions Real Madrid.

Included in the club's ranks are club and Slovakia captain Marek Hamsik, former Liverpool 'keeper Pepe Reina and fellow World Cup winner Raul Albiol.

That's before getting to the attacking talent of Dries Mertens, Lorenzo Insigne and Jose Callejon, who between them netted 60 times last season.

Cherries' final friendly

After just over a month and onto their sixth game of their pre-season schedule, Napoli provide the final test for Eddie Howe's men ahead of the Premier League curtain raiser next Saturday.

Four wins, a narrow loss to Valencia, eight goals for and four against reads the Bournemouth record going into the second friendly match at Vitality Stadium.

Benik Afobe has lead the way with three pre-season strikes, followed by Jordon Ibe and Lys Mousset with two and Max Gradel with one.

Benik's back

Striker Afobe was due to play in last Sunday's game with Valencia, but was ruled out on matchday through illness.

The 24-year-old started at Yeovil Town on Wednesday after recovering and quickly showed his goal-scoring class by scoring two goals in the 3-1 win at Huish Park.

The brace took Afobe to three pre-season goals with the striker also on the look-out in the coming season for his first Cherries hat-trick.

Napoli in pre-season

Pre-season started for Napoli in goal-scoring style, Maurizio Sarri's men sweeping past Italian non-league side FC Anaunia 17-0.

More recently, the Partenopei have been in Germany competing in the Audi Cup at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Napoli lost their first game 2-1 to Atlético Madrid, but defeated hosts Bayern Munich 2-0 Wednesday evening to claim third place, Kalidou Koulibaly and Emanuele Giaccherini scoring the goals.

Tickets and turnstiles

Cherries fans can buy tickets ahead of kick off at Vitality Stadium, or in advance via the club's online ticketing site.

On Sunday the ticket office will be open from 10am right the way to kick off at 7:30pm.

After some supporters experienced delays getting into the ground for last Sunday's Valencia match, supporter liaison officer Liz Finney gave feedback on the issues in a update yesterday.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early for the fixture to ensure a smooth passage into the ground.
