We are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Romain Faivre from Olympique Lyonnais.

The midfielder, who has signed a long-term deal with the club, will spend the 2023/24 campaign on loan at FC Lorient, returning to the club he enjoyed a successful spell with during the second half of last season.

The former France under-21 international has featured regularly in the last three Ligue 1 seasons, following a breakout campaign with Brest in 2020/21.

A creative attacking midfielder that can play in between the lines, Faivre boasts impressive production in terms of goal involvements throughout his career in one of Europe’s top leagues.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said: "It's great for the club to have secured such a talent in Romain.

“He’s a player we’ve been monitoring for a number of years since his move to Brest, and we were particularly impressed with his progress while on loan at Lorient.

"We wish him all the best for the coming season and look forward to seeing him continue his development."
