Aaron Ramsdale's England side have won the European Under-19 Championships following a 2-1 win over Portugal.

The Cherries goalkeeper played 90 minutes as Easah Suliman's goal put the Young Lions into the league, before a Dujon Sterling own goal drew Portugal level.

But, it was England who took their chances in Gori, Georgia, and Lukas Nmecha stepped up to finish an impressive move and ensure Keith Downing's side got their hands on the trophy.

England will return from Georgia as unbeaten champions, after topping their group and overcoming the Czech Republic in the semi-final.

Ramsdale, who kept three clean sheets in the tournament, becomes the second Cherries man to win silverware with England this summer, after midfielder Lewis Cook guided the under-20s to World Cup success in South Korea.

Ramsdale conceded just one goal in those first four games.
