Dominic Solanke’s stellar goal against Fulham in December has been voted the AFC Bournemouth Goal of the Season.

Fighting off fierce competition from Kieffer Moore’s promotion-clinching finish – amongst other first-team, women’s and academy goals – Cherries fans have had their say.

Over two semi-finals and a final, supporters decided between eight goals from across the club over the 2021/22 term on Twitter.

A worthy winner of the accolade, Solanke’s slick strike against the Cottagers narrowly finished on top ahead of the goal which sealed the club’s return to the Premier League.

In the top-of-the-table clash at Craven Cottage, the English striker’s goal was the result of a smart Cherries kick-off routine.

Emiliano Marcondes played the ball back for Lewis Cook, who returned a pass to his Danish midfield partner, and he then teed up compatriot Philip Billing.

A sumptuous first-time pass from Billing set in the onrushing Solanke before the frontman took the ball in his stride with one touch and slammed in with his second.

The goal gave Scott Parker’s men the lead in London before later being pegged back in the 1-1 draw.

The club would like to thank Strategic Solutions for being a partner over the season.
