Dobre signs new Cherries deal

Alex Dobre has signed a new three-year deal with AFC Bournemouth to keep the young Romania under-21 international at Vitality Stadium.

The 20-year-old forward joined the Cherries two summers ago and has been a regular in the under-21s squad, while also spending time on loan in League 1 last season.

Temporary stints with Bury and Rochdale in 2017/18, Dobre made a total of 17 first-team appearances and scored his first professional goal while with the Dale.

Dobre has yet to make his first-team bow for the Cherries, but has been on the bench in both of the club's Carabao Cup fixtures this season.

"I feel very happy," Dobre told afcb.co.uk after penning his new deal. "I'm looking forward to making my first-team debut and doing great things here. Since I came to England I've gained a lot of experience from the games here, they made me grow up become more mature and I've learned a lot of things from the professional games.

"It was difficult when I first came here because the training here is harder and more intense and the game is faster, I needed to adapt to that and that's what I've done.

"My plans are to get into the first 11, I'm looking forward to getting a chance in the cup games this season and if I can play well then I am looking to get a chance in the Premier League."
