Defoe - We've got much more to offer

AFC Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe feels the side "have so much more to offer" after the defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League.

Defoe spoke to afcbTV following the 3-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium and is keen to bounce back from what he described as a disappointing display.

ON THE GAME...

I just thought it was disappointing to be honest.

We have so much more to offer than that. The lads show it every day in training and we need to prove ourselves.

The manager won't be happy as he thought we could have got something out of this game, but it's important that we stick together now.

ON HIS GAME CHANGING OPPORTUNITY...

I hit the post with the header and sometimes they hit the inside of the post and go in.

Even when I got up, the ball just hit me and that's how your luck goes sometimes. It could have completely changed the game, but we were disappointing.

ON THE FIRST FOUR GAMES...

There's no need to panic. We need to show character and we have to bounce back now.

We need to continue what we're doing each day as everyone works so hard in training. We need that one win to go on a run.

Last season was unbelievable and I haven't seen any reason behind the scenes why we can't do it again.

We've got good spirit and we already can't wait for the game on Friday under the lights, we have to win.
