Danjuma up for Sky Bet PotM

Arnaut Danjuma has been nominated for March's Sky Bet EFL Player of the Month award after a scintillating month.

Helping to spearhead the Cherries' charge for the Championship play-offs, Danjuma scored in three straight games during the month, netting against Preston, Barnsley and Swansea.

The 24-year-old is joined on the nominations list by the three Championship players listed below.

Arnaut Danjuma (AFC Bournemouth)

Now into his second season in Dorset, the Lagos-born Dutchman is justifying his transfer from Club Brugge. The fluidity of his movement allied to sweet timing of the ball underpinned three goals and three assists in just four March games.

Kenny McLean (Norwich City)

Norwich’s success has been built on clean sheets – three in March - while not sacrificing their attacking flow. McLean has been pivotal, shielding his back four, winning battles all over the pitch and bursting forward to score against Blackburn.

Alex Mowatt (Barnsley)

The captain’s left foot has been a wand for Barnsley during their superb springtime run. An unstoppable free-kick at QPR was the highlight, but five other goals came from his deliveries into the box at dead balls and in open play.

Francisco Sierralta (Watford)

The Chilean was the uncompromising rock at the heart of a Watford defence that conceded just two goals in five March games. Outstanding in the air against Cardiff and Birmingham, he also headed the opening goal in the 4-1 win at Rotherham.

The winner will be announced on Friday 9th April.

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises of Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL communications director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
