Cook gets maiden England U21 call

Lewis Cook has been handed his first call-up to the England Under-21 squad for the upcoming UEFA European Championship qualifiers against the Netherlands and Latvia.

The 20-year-old, who captained the England Under-20s to their FIFA World Cup triumph in South Korea this summer, has been named in head coach Aidy Boothroyd's 24-man squad.

The game against the Netherlands takes place on Friday 1st September at De Graafschap's Stadion De Vijverberg.

Then, four days later, on Tuesday 5th September Cook could feature in the game against Latvia at Vitality Stadium, kick off 7.45pm.
