Lewis Cook has become the latest AFC Bournemouth player to commit his future to the club after signing a contract extension.

The midfielder has agreed terms to extend his stay at Vitality Stadium for an additional 12 months, the deal running until the summer of 2025.

He joins Mark Travers and Dominic Solanke in pledging himself to the club, the pair both having both penned long-term contracts during pre-season.

He made 75 appearances during the club’s previous five-year stay in the top flight and is one of their most experienced and consistent performers.

The 25-year-old has displayed tremendous fortitude to regain his best form having battled back from two serious knee injuries in the past four years.

Cook, who captained England to glory at the Under-20 World Cup in 2017, was a mainstay as Scott Parker’s team clinched promotion last season.

Neill Blake, AFC Bournemouth Chief Executive, told afcb.co.uk: “We’re very pleased to get another contract extension with a key player over the line.

"Lewis’ talent and work ethic are there for all to see and this is a massive boost for the club just before the start of the new season.

"He has played a huge role in our successes to date and is a key part of our future plans, so it’s fantastic that he has committed his future to the club.”
