Cook captains England in opener

Lewis Cook played 90 minutes and captained the England under-21s as they began their 2018 Maurice Revello Toulon Tournament campaign.

The under-21s are looking to secure the title for a third successive year following victories in 2016 and 2017.

Cook was influential in helping the Young Lions get off to a good start with a 2-1 win over China.

Pulling the strings alongside Everton's Tom Davies in the middle of the pitch, Cook played the full match which saw Middlesbrough's Dael Fry score the opener and Chelsea's Tammy Abraham net a dramatic late winner to bag three points in the opener.

Aidy Boothroyd's side are back in action on Tuesday against Mexico in Salon.
