Cook and Ramsdale in Toulon final

England U21s remain on course for a third straight Toulon Tournament win after defeating Scotland 3-1 in the semi-final.

A resounding 4-0 victory over Qatar had given England their semi-final spot as the best second placed team, while Scot Gemmill’s Scotland side beat South Korea in their last-eight fixture.

Lewis Cook played the full 80 minutes as the Young Lions had to come from a goal down to secure their place in the final.

Michael Johnston of Celtic gave the Scots the lead with a solo effort, beating two England defenders before clipping the ball superbly over Newcastle United's Freddie Woodman.

But a close range finish from Everton's Callum Connolly drew the Young Lions level.

The turnaround was completed when Arsenal's Eddie Nnketiah scored a clinical brace, his first was a brilliant finish after cutting inside from the left.

Cook was the skipper once again for Aidy Boothroyd's side, with Aaron Ramsdale an unused substitute.

The final of the Toulon Tournament will take place on Saturday against Mexico.
