Brooks secures January Player of the Month

Midfielder David Brooks has won his second consecutive Michael Matthews Player of the Month award - scooping January's gong after a magnificent start to 2019.

The 21-year-old, who previously won December’s award, made it two from two after securing a massive 65% of supporters’ votes on the club’s Twitter poll.

The Welsh international had a standout month, catching the eye particularly against Chelsea, with a superb assist and goal making the nation take notice.

His stunning performance against the Blues followed up another impressive outing against West Ham, where Brooks provided the crucial assist for Joshua King’s late goal in the 2-0 victory.

In total for the month, the midfielder played in all five games, notching a goal and two assists in another fine month.

The other nominees for the award were Joshua King, Steve Cook and Nathan Ake.
