Brooks nominated for PFA award

David Brooks has been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

The 21-year-old is up for the accolade alongside fellow youngsters Trent Alexander-Arnold, Marcus Rashford, Declan Rice, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling.  

Brooks, who joined the Cherries last summer, has netted on seven occasions this season and has provided five Premier League assists for his side.

His contributions include scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory over Brighton in December and also being on target in the memorable 4-0 triumph against Chelsea in January.

As a result, he has picked up three Michael Matthews Player of the Month awards at Vitality Stadium across 2018/19.

Internationally, Brooks has already swooped the FA Wales Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year award in March, the first person to win both in the same season.

Now up for the prestigious PFA award, with previous winners including Cristiano Ronaldo, Leroy Sane and Dele Alli.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on Sunday 28th April.
