Boss previews Birmingham cup match

The AFC Bournemouth manager gives his views ahead of Tuesday night's Carabao Cup match against Birmingham City.

...On the Carabao Cup challenge

It's one were' taking seriously, for sure. While I will be rotating my team it's a match we want to win, like every game. Rotating is a healthy thing to do at this stage of the season but we'll be going there to win.

I want to see other players in the squad and see how they're shaping up, it's good for young players too, especially with the start we've made it's a great chance to see our players given opportunities.

...On facing Harry Redknapp, Kevin Bond and Paul Groves

Coming up against three former managers, that's quite bizarre. It will be good to see three players who did really well for this football club and managers I learned a lot from.

Kevin saw something in me and I am really grateful for that. When I look back and see that show of faith, that really changed my life.

We'll go there to go and win regardless of who we're up against.

...On the 4:15am Thursday morning Carabao Cup third round draw

First and foremost we need to make sure we're in it, if we do then I'll be up early to watch the draw.

...On putting right a poor start to the season

We've had similar starts in the last two years, the difference this year is that the performances haven't been where we want them to be.

That doesn't ring alarm bells exactly but it does raise concerns, the power lies with us to make sure we turn things around and get back to where we need to be.
