AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has spoken to afcbTV following the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

The Bosnian made a string of excellent saves to keep the hosts at bay, but couldn’t prevent Christian Eriksen from striking well 48 minutes in.

Following the game, Begovic shared his thoughts on the game and how the Cherries can still take some positives.

“The key word is ‘frustrated’ as the boys did so well,” he began.

“We worked hard, stuck to the game plan and were generally really disciplined. We had some chances, they had theirs and, unfortunately for us, one of theirs went in.

“That’s the way it’s going for us at the moment. We’ve not had so much luck in front of goal but we have to keep going because we’re playing really well and we’ve got to keep these performances up.

“I think we’ve got to keep plugging away. These things can turn if we keep performing how we did today.

“I was really pleased with the commitment, effort and desire so if we keep doing as we are then something we change.

“Today was a good performance at a difficult place to come so there are plenty of positives.”

Begovic also spoke of next week’s fixture at Stoke, a place he knows all too well after spending five years with the club.

“It’s going to feel great going back there and seeing some familiar faces,” he continued.

“It’ll be better if we win and overall it’ll be nice to return, but the focus is on Bournemouth and the task ahead.

“We’ll go to the game with a positive mindset and hopefully things will turn for us that weekend and we can make someone else pay.”
