Anthony discusses Fulham visit

AFC Bournemouth star Jaidon Anthony has joined the media to preview this weekend's game with Fulham.

The academy graduate has become a key member of Scott Parker's side this season and joined BBC Radio Solent's Kris Temple to discuss his season so far and the visit of Fulham:

On starting 33 of 41 games this season...

“If you told me that at the start of the season, I would think there'd have been no chance but I’m loving every minute of it.

“I’m happy to help the team in any way I can and the gaffer’s put a lot of faith in me this year and hopefully, I’m repaying that on the pitch.”

On how he is feeling physically in the Championship...

“At the start of the season, we played a lot of physical teams, and you could see that a lot of us were quite new to it.

“That was a tough ask for us but I’ve enjoyed learning, I think I’m always learning every game and learning how to use my body.

“I’ve been happy with my body and that’s down to a good pre-season and preparing right for the season.”

On how he's developed over the season...

“I see a completely different player, a different mentality probably because of the confidence I have in myself now knowing that I can do it at this level.

“I definitely feel a completely different player and a person from the start of the season.”

On where the Cherries are placed in the league...

“We’re definitely in a very good position, any team below us would be dying for our position; I think it’s been a good year overall.

“The focus is on Saturday, but it does feel close and we just have to keep pushing and keep working.

“It will mean a lot to us if we can achieve our goal for the players, for the fans, for the staff.

“It’s been a long year, we’ve all put a lot into it and hopefully we can get over the line and have a good celebration.”

On the visit of Fulham...

“It’ll be a big game, they’re a top side and, obviously, very deserving of their promotion the other day.

“I’m sure they want to finish the season strongly to try and win the league and we’re trying to push on and achieve our goals as well.

“It’ll be an exciting game for everyone, I’m sure.”

On whether Fulham's promotion will change the game...

“If I’m honest, no. They’re probably still trying to win the title and finish the season strongly and we still have a task to do in terms of what we want to achieve.

“I think it will be a game where both teams are right up for it and hopefully, we come out on top.”

On potentially winning promotion with the Cherries...

"I think it’s every kid’s dream to play in the Premier League and we have a big opportunity to do it now.

“For me personally, I’m very excited to be there, play at all the big stadiums and try, show how good I am at that level and what we can do as a club."
