AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of defender Nathan Aké on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The 21-year-old will bolster Eddie Howe’s options ahead of the Cherries’ second season in the Premier League.

Aké, who spent his formative years with ADO Den Haag and Feyenoord before arriving at Stamford Bridge, has already experienced top-flight football with both his parent club and Watford.

The Netherlands under-21 international made 32 appearances for the Hornets last term, including two starts against AFC Bournemouth.

"We are delighted to welcome Nathan to AFC Bournemouth," commented chief executive Neill Blake.

"For a player of his age he already has great experience in the Premier League and we believe he will bring a lot to our squad.

"He is an international player with great pedigree, so we are really excited to have him join us for the upcoming season."
