Williams ready for quick turnaround in Turf Moor test

Midfielder Toure Williams is prepared for a quick turnaround of stadium away games, when AFC Bournemouth’s development squad visit Burnley on Friday (midday kick-off).

The Cherries made the lengthy trip to Suffolk, recording a 4-2 defeat at Ipswich Town’s Portman Road on Tuesday.

Less than 72 hours later, they have the chance to bounce back when they make the lengthy journey to Turf Moor to take on their Clarets counterparts.

Speaking about the back-to-back away fixtures, Williams said: “It’s something we are all going to need in our careers and we are all going to have to experience.

“It’s good for us to get it out the way now, so then we are ready for something even bigger that might come in our careers. We will know how to handle it professionally and get the results.

“All us boys know we need to go and put things right against Burnley, just so we can show we are better than what we were against Ipswich.

“We will need to have good character to come out with a win against a good side.”

The Cherries are currently third in their section of the Professional Development League.

Alan Connell’s side are a point behind second-placed Queens Park Rangers and six adrift of table-toppers Millwall, having played a game fewer than the league leaders.

The top two in the division qualify for the end-of-season play-offs.

“QPR and Millwall are ahead of us so we just need to keep battling, keep fighting and get the results that we need,” said Williams.
