Ward completes permanent HIFK Helsinki move

Calum Ward has completed a permanent move to Finnish side HIFK Helsinki.

The goalkeeper, who joined the Cherries as a 13-year-old, joined the Veikkausliiga side on loan in January and has been preparing for the 2021 season, which begins in May.

HIFK Helsinki finished 8th out of 12 teams in last season's competition, which was shortened due to Covid-19, and are currently managed by former Stoke City assistant, Joaquin Gomez.

Ward previously spent time on loan with Totton & Eling, Bashley, Thatcham Town and Weymouth.

He trained regularly with the first-team during his time at Vitality Stadium and had been included in matchday squads for games in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

AFC Bournemouth would like to wish Calum well with his new club and thank him for his efforts during his time at Vitality Stadium.
