AFC Bournemouth’s under-21s take on Arsenal under the lights at Vitality Stadium as the Premier League Cup gets underway.

The headline team news is that first-team duo Lewis Cook and Steve Cook are joining Shaun Cooper’s side to face the Gunners.

The fixture is the first time Lewis Cook will be in action since his knee injury which he suffered at Deepdale in the 1-1 draw with Preston North End back in March.

His eagerly anticipated return will not only be welcome news to first team head coach Scott Parker, but a good opportunity for the younger players in the Cherries ranks to play alongside both Cooks.

The Premier League Cup has seen the youngsters play in some memorable fixtures at Vitality Stadium, none more so than the 3-2 victory over Southampton in 2020 which saw Jordan Zemura net in front of the Vitality Steve Fletcher Stand.

The Premier League Cup adopts a Champions League format in which the top two from groups of four qualify to the knockout phase of the competition.

Cherries XI: Camp; Genesini, S Cook, Camp, Greenwood; L Cook, Nippard, Moriah-Welsh; Kurran-Browne, Roberts, Saydee.

Subs: Terrell, Gidaree, Wadham, Seddon, Pollock.
