Pollock agrees contract extension

Young striker Euan Pollock has agreed an extension to his contract with the Cherries.

The extended deal will see the frontman remain at Vitality Stadium until at least the summer of 2024.

“It’s unbelievable,” Pollock told afcb.co.uk on the feeling of agreeing the extension.

“I’ve had a tough year with injuries and whatnot, but I’ve been here 13 years now and I love the club.

“It’s really exciting and I’m looking forward to cracking on next season, and for the back end of this season.”

The Dorchester-born striker joined the Bournemouth academy as a nine-year-old and has enjoyed success in front of goal through every age category.

Following four successive seasons as top scorer in his age group, the 20-year-old was elevated to the development squad after his scholarship.

Bolstering his progression with the Cherries since then, Pollock has enjoyed loan spells with non-league duo Truro City and Hungerford Town.

The 2022/23 campaign has then seen the youngster feature in three of Gary O’Neil’s first-team matchday squads after overcoming three unfortunate spells on the sidelines.

“It’s been really tough,” Pollock said on his recent time out injured. “I think anyone in football knows that injuries are mentally and physically really tough.

“Having three big ones has been difficult, but in the middle of that, I’ve made three Premier League benches, so it’s been a mixed season.

“It’s been a dream of mine to have been in and around that, especially to get on the bench against Brighton and Arsenal, that was unbelievable. That’s something I’ve dreamt of.

“I want more of that because I’m an ambitious person, so I want to crack on and see where it takes me.”
