Ndjoli targetting more goals

AFC Bournemouth under-21s striker Mikael Ndjoli is setting his sights on scoring more goals after securing a hat-trick in the Cherries’ latest pre-season victory.

After beating Arsenal and travelling to Alicante for a pre-season training camp, the Cherries returned to beat Hamworthy Recreational 15-0.

Ndjoli was in impressive form in the abhorrent conditions and said: “I think as a team we played well.

“In training before the game, I just wanted to stretch the game, get in behind and keep making dangerous runs. I was in the right place at the right time!

“Physically I feel really fit, it’s a demanding club and if you’re not physically up there you will struggle. But we came back from our training camp in Spain fit, it was difficult but we used it to our advantage.

“I want to score as many goals as possible this season, I feel as a striker that has to be my goal.”

After joining last season, Ndjoli has continued to adapt to the Cherries style of play, adding: “Like I said, the club is physically demanding.

“In pre-season, we were up early training, then in the gym or pool, then training again. You have to be physically good to play to the philosophy.

“I think we should be aiming for more success this season, last season we got to the Hampshire Senior Cup final but we let ourselves down in the final. We aim to put that right this season.”
