Loan move for teenage striker Adu-Adjei

AFC Bournemouth’s teenage striker Daniel Adu-Adjei has completed a loan move to League One outfit Leyton Orient and will remain at Brisbane Road for the rest of the season.

Adu-Adjei has been in excellent form for the Cherries development squad this season, the 18-year-old frontman netting 19 goals in all competitions.

His exploits earned him a call-up to Andoni Iraola’s first-team squad, Adu-Adjei coming off the bench to make his professional debut in the FA Cup third-round win against QPR earlier this month.

A prolific marksman during his scholarship, Adu-Adjei was rewarded for his eye-catching progress with his first professional contract in February 2023.

At 17, he was named in the matchday squad for Premier League games against Brentford and Nottingham Forest last season and was an unused substitute in both matches.

Adu-Adjei, who joined the club from Fulham in March 2021, has played a starring role in propelling the development squad to the top of their groups in the Premier League Cup and the Professional Development League, as well as into the quarter-finals of the Servio Hampshire Men’s Senior Cup.

His 19-goal haul has included no fewer than 13 in his past 11 games, with Adu-Adjei having scored at least once in ten of their past 11 matches.

He joins Orient with the side currently sitting tenth in the League One table.
