AFC Bournemouth have been drawn away to Farnborough in the third round of the Hampshire Senior Cup.

The Cherries will travel to the Rushmoor Community Stadium on Tuesday 7th December for a 7.45pm kick-off.

It will be the first meeting between the teams in almost two years, Shaun Cooper's side overcoming Farnborough 3-2 to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition in December 2019.

That day, Jake Scrimshaw's opener was cancelled out by Connor Cullen, before Reggie Young gave the hosts the lead with six minutes to go.

However, a dramatic end saw Tyrell Hamilton get his side back on level terms, before Harvey Bertrand headed home in the 93rd minute to send the Cherries through in cold and foggy conditions.

The Cherries went on to beat Sholing and Moneyfields before lifting the trophy after triumphing 5-3 on penalties against Eastleigh in the final in May 2021.

Cooper's development squad go into the game having already defeated Cowes Sports in the second round, coming away from the Isle of Wight 7-0 winners in September.

Tickets for the tie with Farnborough will be available on the gate as the development squad look to continue their defence of the trophy.
