Wellbeing: We're still onside

Hundreds of people have been finding wellbeing tips and support over the month-long ‘Wellbeing: We’re Onside’ campaign in partnership with Dorset HealthCare.

Over the past four weeks, 20 wellbeing tips have been shared via social media, highlighting help and advice on topics including sleep, worries, physical activity and eating healthily.

The campaign was also supported by defender Chris Mepham, who posted a video during Mental Health Awareness Week, encouraging fans to be kind to themselves and others.

The four-week campaign culminated in supporters sharing stories of how they have supported their wellbeing during lockdown, with a chance to win an AFC Bournemouth goody bag. The winner, picked at random, was Dom Weir.

Meherzin Das, professional lead for psychology and psychological therapies at Dorset HealthCare, said: “Teaming our clinical expertise with AFC Bournemouth has provided an excellent opportunity to improve the emotional and physical wellbeing of fans and their families under lockdown.

“The website is still available for you to use and we wish each of you the very best. Stay safe and well, and keep doing wonderful things.”

AFC Bournemouth’s head of community Steve Cuss also commented: “The partnership with Dorset HealthCare has provided a fantastic platform to support our local community with key issues and avenues of support for individuals through this difficult period of time.

“The partnership will continue to offer and provide the areas of support needed for the community in the coming weeks and months.”
