U12s in Ability Counts action

Last weekend, the Under-12 Ability Counts teams took part in the first ever Hamble Club Youth Pan-Disability Tournament, with 15 players representing the Cherries.

In total 15 young players represented the Cherries across two teams.

Playing in five league games, the AFC Bournemouth sides faced opposition from the two Hamble teams, Feltham Bees and Berewood Panthers, before facing each other.

The Blacks secured a draw in their first game of the day, as Alfie Hunt pulled off a string of good saves late in the game to deny their opposition from scoring.

They were quick to add to their tally, picking up another point in a 1-1 draw against Berewood Panthers, Ryan Pestell scored the Cherries’ only goal of the game.

However, the Blacks were to pick up no further points during the day meaning that they could not progress out of the group stages.

The Reds started their day off with a defeat, losing to Hamble Yellows in the opening game.

However, they recovered well to pick up a point in their second match against the other Hamble side. In a very tight game, AFC Bournemouth went 1-0 up during the first half, before their opposition pulled a goal back in the dying minutes.

The Reds then went on to win their next two games, including a 3-0 win over Feltham Bees, Noah Feltham with a hat-trick in the first, while Ethan Burney, Alfie Gibbs and Finley Smith were all on the scoresheet for the second.

Following a draw in their final group game of the day, the Reds finished in 3rd place.
