Summer signings at Primary Stars session

AFC Bournemouth duo Jack Stacey and Lloyd Kelly visited St James’ Academy earlier in the week to partake in some football fun.

Attending the after school club, the defenders rewarded the children for their hard work in the first half of the autumn term by turning up to share their skills.

As part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme, the club’s Community Sports Trust uses the power of sport to inspire youngsters to learn, be active and develop important life skills.

During the session, Stacey and Kelly answered questions, signed the children’s certificates and posed for a photo, making it a day to remember for the youngsters.

“Were really fortunate that our players come and support all our community activities and to have two relatively new players here with us today is really great,” said head of community Steve Cuss.

Cherries left-back Lloyd Kelly also spoke with afcbTV about his maiden community experience.

“It’s always nice to get out, whether it’s seeing the kids or the older part of community,” he began.

“It’s all the smaller things that help and matter to kids, either playing football with them or just coming for a chat. It all puts a smile on their faces.”

AFC Bournemouth would like to extend their thanks to Medhurst IT for sponsoring the Premier League Primary Stars programme.
