Solanke and Brooks support Ability Counts

AFC Bournemouth duo David Brooks and Dominic Solanke were on hand to provide a memorable half-term session to over 35 children.

Both Brooks and Solanke gave up their time to go to Littledown Centre to help the Cherries’ Community Sports Trust deliver their Ability Counts programme, which sees weekly activities cater for more than 100 children and adults with physical / learning disabilities.

The pair of internationals helped coach the children on their dribbling and ball control, as well as take part in small-sided games afterwards.

The Cherries squad members then answered a Q&A as well as posing for photographs and autographs much to the delight of the Ability Counts participants.

Welsh international Brooks said: “It’s brilliant that the club put on these sessions to help children in the local community.

“Dominic and I came down to show our support and luckily we were able to get involved in a great project, we were pleased to come and be a part of it.

Solanke added: “When you see the smiles on the kid’s faces it’s really nice.

“We also answered some questions which we’re happy to do and hopefully we gave them some answers to the questions they wanted!”
