AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust are showing their support for the Hope for Food charity, based in West Howe.

The organisation was set up in 2012 and is run entirely by volunteers, with the aim of providing life’s basic essentials on a daily basis to people in need of help due to the current economic climate.

Hope for Food’s mission is to assist men, women and children in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas, who are either homeless or living in poverty, by providing fresh food at our soup kitchens and hampers of food, as well as good quality clothing, bedding and household goods where needed.

The charity help anyone who reaches out to them and serves those who do without judgement.

As a result, the club’s Community Sports Trust are doing their bit to show support and set up a donation point at the Slades Park Soccer Camp between Monday 11th April and Thursday 14th April for the second year in a row.

Attendees brought additional items along to the sessions to deposit in the donation box, which has since been dropped off at the foodbank.

It’s not just those attending soccer camps who will be able to donate, with participants in disability sessions and women’s training also playing their part.

With the 3G situated just next to Slades Park, members of the public also had easy access to the donation point should they want to contribute.

Following another superb initiative from the club’s Community Sports Trust, Steve Cuss spoke with afcb.co.uk.

“The Hope for Food charity plays a vital role in supporting local families and we are pleased to be able to support the appeal for additional food through collection points across our community projects over Easter.”
