Ringwood to start hosting community sessions

AFC Bournemouth's Community Sports Trust are delighted to announce several new weekly sessions, which will start at Ringwood Community Hub in September 2023.

Recreational walking football sessions will begin at the site from Thursday 7th September, taking place between 10.30am and 11.30am. They will be open to all aged 50+.

Costing £3 per week, the session will aim to not only introduce attendees to walking football, but also help to increase activity levels and decrease feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Weekly sessions for young people will begin on Monday 4th September and continue throughout term time.

Monday sessions will take place between 4pm and 5pm, and will be aimed specifically at children aged 5-8 years old. Sessions will be priced at £3 per week, but participants will be required to block book these in advance for half a term.

Booking for the Monday evening sessions are now open and can be made here

Additionally, there will be sessions on a Friday evening for children and teenagers. They will take place between 4pm and 5pm for 8–11 year-olds, while sessions between 5pm and 6pm will welcome those aged 12-14 to play.

Similar to the Monday sessions, these will cost £3 per week and there will again be a requirement to book. The early slot can be booked here, while the late slot can be booked here

Ringwood Community Hub is the flagship development for the Community Sports Trust and is currently in phase two of its three-phrase programme build.

Phase one, which was completed in early 2023, was the development of the 3G pitch. This is to be followed by a new pavilion and changing rooms, plus a brand-new car park.

To find out information about any of the above sessions, please contact Ringwood Community Hub Development Officer Ben Cooper on ben.cooper@afcb.co.uk or Head of Community Steve Cuss on steve.cuss@afcb.co.uk.
