As they returned to Nottingham for their second round of fixtures, the Cherries looked forward to five Premiership games.

Saturday

In Saturday’s fixtures, the side couldn’t quite find the win needed to kick-start their season.

The opening game ended in an 8-0 defeat, as they lost to a very experienced Northern Thunder team, before West Brom Throttles claimed a 4-0 victory to end the day.

However, the closest game of the weekend came as AFC Bournemouth played Manchester United.

The Cherries started strongly and played some great attacking football, which led to Ryan Skinner scoring the opener.

United found their way back into the game and two quick goals saw them lead 2-1 at half-time.

After the break, Manchester United continued to push for a win and they went on to score again, leaving the Cherries trailing by two.

Regan scored a late consolation goal, but it wasn’t to be as the side were beaten 3-2.

Sunday

On Sunday, the Cherries faced top-of-the-league and last year’s winners West Bromwich Albion, who had four current England players in their squad.

Throughout the game, AFC Bournemouth retained possession and between Matt, Ryan and Regan they defended well.

However, the experience of the Baggies shone through as the team capitalised on their chances to win the game 7-0.

Finishing up with a game against Sale, the Cherries found themselves quickly trailing 2-0, but continued to attack.

They were rewarded when Regan Kemp finished well after a large period of AFC Bournemouth possession as the game ended 2-1.
