AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust have been busy delivering Anti-Bullying Week projects across the last five days, supporting the National campaign.
The coaches have delivered a total of 42 sessions to over 1,000 children and teenagers, visiting eight different primary schools, while eight separate classes have taken place in four secondary schools.
Away from the classroom, the girls teams, which have youngsters ranging from the age of ten to 16, have also taken part in special workshops throughout the week.
The highlight of the week came on Wednesday when first team player, Robbie Brady, visited St Mark’s School in Talbot Heath.
He helped deliver a respect session, in association with local estate agent Goadsby, that tied in with Anti-Bullying Week.
Elsewhere, the club’s under-16 Ability Counts team and youngsters on the Premier League Kicks programme were also exposed to anti-bullying workshops.
Following a week of activities, head of community Steve Cuss shared his delight at its success with afcb.co.uk.
“It’s been great to support Anti-Bullying Week and deliver sessions in schools across the Bournemouth and Poole area.
“It’s such an important topic and something we’re really keen to educate youngsters on, so the workshops we’ve been putting on are key.”
