Longfleet Primary represent Cherries in Primary Stars competition

The under 11 girls from Longfleet Primary School represented AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League Primary Stars regional tournament.

The school team qualified for the opportunity after finishing runners up in the local competition, hosted at Ringwood Community Hub in January.

They visited Brighton’s training ground for the day, where they played school teams representing Maidenhead, Wycombe, Portsmouth and of course the Seagulls in the group stages.

The girls played some fantastic football, winning three out four of the group stage matches, before going on to face Southampton in the semi-final, where they unfortunately exited the competition.

Speaking after the tournament, Head of Community Steve Cuss told afcb.co.uk: “Longfleet Primary School were fantastic ambassadors representing AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League Primary Stars tournament.

“We hope that all the players enjoyed the experience and we thank them for their outstanding performances in reaching the semi-finals.”
