AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook was the latest Cherries player to get out into the community to help with AFCB Community Sports Trust’s Soccer Schools - during a record breaking week.
Cook and club legend Steve Fletcher got involved with the popular schools which are sponsored by CMP UK.
The schools have seen their highest ever number of boys and girls in attendance over the Easter holidays, with over 800 children flocking to get involved in the excellent schools.
CMP are in their second season of sponsoring the soccer schools which encourage local boys and girls aged between 4-14 years of age to play football regardless of ability.
And the 150+ children in attendance on Wednesday 19th April at Littledown – one of the highest ever numbers for a Soccer School - got to play with and be given pointers by Cook and Fletcher, as well as taking part in a Q and A with the Cherries duo.
On top of that, Paul Dawe, the owner of CMP, kindly provided six footballs to be awarded to individual participants which were all signed by Cook and Fletcher.
Paul said: "It’s an absolute pleasure to support Steve and the guys in all that they do and provide for the community. Without these soccer schools and the dedicated individuals, grassroots football would not reach as many children in as many communities as it does today. I’m just glad we can contribute and help bring football to so many children.”
Head of Community Sports Trust Steve Cuss added: "We are very grateful for the continued support of CMP, the Easter Soccer Schools recorded the highest ever number of boys and girls attending School holiday activities with over 800 taking part throughout the fortnight of activities."
