Gosling talks road safety at Parkfield School

AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust last week went down to Parkfield School to spread the message of road safety.

They were joined by first team midfielder, Dan Gosling, who took part in a question and answer session, before posing for photos and signing autographs for the pupils.

Ahead of his appearance, Steve Cuss and his team delivered a workshop in the classroom on staying safe, as well as taking a PE lesson in the school’s sports hall.

The children were also invited onto a yellow bus, which was parked in the playground, to parktake in a quiz and highlight the importance of road safety.

Following the event, Cuss spoke with afcbTV: “The children are often out and about playing. That could sometimes be close to certain dangers, so we highlight some of those to them and just point them out.

“We also give them some advice about what they’re doing and some of the areas where they could be playing and also when they’re travelling about.”

Gosling also expressed the importance of such events and workshops: “I come on these appearances probably two or three times a season at various different schools and I go into a few classrooms and listen to what they’ve been doing and working on.

“We have a little question and answer session, with a few football questions in there which the sporty ones like to ask. It’s always good to share some knowledge with younger children.”

AFC Bournemouth would like to thank Yellow Buses for their continued support of the road safety sessions.
