Girls and Women enjoy seasonal awards night

AFC Bournemouth Girls and Women’s teams ended the season with their annual player award ceremonies at Vitality Stadium.

The Women’s evening event, which took place in Bubbles Champagne Lounge at Vitality Stadium, saw six different award winners across the two teams.

Chloe Tape retained the top goal-scorer award for the first team for the second successive season, whilst Helen Corbin scooped the top goal-scorer award for the Development Squad, having scored an impressive 41 goals in 22 games.

The first team voted their Players’ Player of the Season as Emma Davis, who had an excellent season which was finished off with an impressive goal against Moneyfields Ladies in the Chairman’s Cup final win.

In the Development Squad, Chiara Andreotti was named Players’ Player of the Season. The youngster, who returned to the team this season following two ankle surgeries, was chosen to be vice-captain for the campaign and was presented her award from captain, Steph Small. 

The final accolades of the evening were given to each team’s Player of the Season. Sofia Sinaguglia was the Development Squad’s recipient, whilst Hannah Bennett received the award in the first team.

The following week saw the four Girls’ teams, along with their parents, attend their awards ceremony at Vitality Stadium.

Every player in attendance received a medal awarded by their coaches, while representatives from sponsors Bournemouth University were on hand to congratulate the girls and pose for photographs with the winners.

The Players’ Player votes were distributed to Zuzanna (under-10), Maddison (under-12), Orlaith (under-14) and Abby (under-16), whilst the Player of the Season awards were handed out to Isla (under-10), Amiee L. (under-12), Elle (under-14) and Grace M. (under-16).

Speaking about the season for the six AFC Bournemouth Women and Girls teams, head of community Steve Cuss told afcb.co.uk: “The awards evenings are always great to celebrate and thank the players from across all our age groups for their efforts throughout what has been a very successful season.

“Congratulations to all the award winners”
