Day 10 of our 12 Days of Christmas: The Crumbs Project

The Crumbs Project are the tenth local organisation to receive £1,000 as part of our 12 Days of Christmas campaign.

The scheme works in conjunction with the Cherries Community Fund and supports local organisations over the festive period after what has been a challenging year.

The Crumbs Project, who were selected as the staff’s charity partner for the 2018/19 season, work with adults with a range of disabilities to gain skills and qualifications.

They are one of 12 local charities to receive a £1,000 donation from the Cherries Community Fund, who are helping spread some much-needed Christmas cheer.

The fund is financed from the proceeds of the popular Cherries Community Draw - prior to Covid - and any other donations the club receives.

Ahead of the 12 Days of Christmas scheme, AFC Bournemouth supporters recently voted for the dozen organisations they wanted to see benefit across the festive period, with The Crumbs Project selected as one.

Speaking to afcb.co.uk, representatives of the organisation discussed how they would use the money.

"We are going to produce Christmas support boxes for all our trainees who are all on low incomes and benefits,” they said.

"We like to also like produce some ‘thank you boxes’ with lots of Christmas items for all our volunteers who have supported the charity through what has been an exceedingly difficult year."

Keep an eye out on our website to see which other charities will be benefiting from a Cherries Community Fund donation in the run up to Christmas.
