Community surprise pupil with mascot package

AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust made a surprise visit to St. Mary’s School in Poole this morning to hand out a special prize to one of the Premier League Primary Stars pupils.

A Premier League Referees Mascot package was up for grabs, with the lucky recipient leading out both AFC Bournemouth and Manchester City on Saturday.

Ollie, from Year 5, was selected by the Community Sports Trust coaches as the recipient of the prize, due to showing excellent fair behaviour throughout the lessons.

Head of community Steve Cuss, who handed Ollie his prize earlier on spoke about the reward.

“I was delighted to visit the Year 5 class and present Ollie with his prize,” he said.

“I’m sure will be a memorable day for him, which he deserves following the Premier League Primary Stars lessons delivered at St Mary’s School.”

“The Premier League Primary stars programme is a fantastic initiative which engages the children and teachers in the PE lessons alongside educational workshops in the classroom.”

St. Mary’s School have been participating in the Premier League Primary Stars programme since September receiving a PE programme for every class in the school, alongside PSHE workshops, Reading Stars and active numeracy lessons.
