AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust offer volunteering opportunities to teenagers and adults across all sessions in Dorset and Hampshire, with those currently assisting being recognised as part of National Volunteer Week.

The opportunities provide others with the chance to develop their skills, work with those of all ages, and experience life alongside the Community Sports Trust.

Over the past season, the Community Sports Trust has been supported by over 40 young people as assistant coaches on our weekly sessions including Minikickers and Premier League Kicks.

Many from Bournemouth University have joined us as Sports Therapist within our teams, where they have assisted the coaching staff in the women’s and girls’ teams, alongside the disability team’s matches. Other volunteers have assisted us with refereeing too.

Head of Community Steve Cuss has extended his thanks to the volunteers who work hard across the Community Sports Trust sessions throughout the year: “We are grateful for the support of all the volunteers supporting the delivery of our projects to the local Community.”

“The volunteers week provides the opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for the dedication and support to many volunteers who have spent hours assisting individuals and teams with AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust.”

The Community Sports Trust are also delighted to be able help our volunteers with their career development, through finding and assisting with FA recognised courses, providing opportunities to attend coaching CPD events and possible opportunities of employment for those who have been involved long-term.

There are always opportunities for young people to get involved and volunteer at Community Sports Trust sessions, to register your interest or to find out more information please email [email protected]
