AFC Bournemouth was pleased to celebrate its Community Sports Trust during last weekend’s home game with Fulham at Vitality Stadium.

Dominic Solanke scored a last-minute penalty to cancel out Alexsander Mitrovic’s headed opener, ensuring the spoils were shared on the south coast.

Throughout the day, there was plenty of matchday activity taking place to celebrate the trust. The first team players warmed up in branded t-shirts, while the flagbearers were from a local grassroots football team, who had spent the morning training on the 3G pitches at the stadium.

The Community Sports Trust works with several groups in the local area, promoting health, education, participation and inclusion, and offering activities for people of all ages.

It also provides different ways for people to engage with the football club, whether that’s on a match day or throughout the week, supporting national campaigns, initiatives by the club or programmes delivered by local businesses.

The Community Sports Trust’s activities are inclusive to all, but they do hold specific programmes for groups who need additional support to take part.

Following the matchday, head of community Steve Cuss spoke with afcb.co.uk about the activity that took place.

“We were delighted to be able to highlight our work in the community,” he began.

“We are proud to work in partnership with many organisations, impacting in a positive way so many in our community.”
