AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Head of Community Sports Trust Steve Cuss updates afcb.co.uk on the latest happenings in and around the local area.

It's back to school this week after another fantastic May half term for the Community Sports Trust.

We were out in the local area delivering soccer schools in Bournemouth, Purbeck and Blandford throughout the week, hosting a number of sessions on the 3G pitches at Vitality Stadium. They were all well attended and most definitely enjoyed by those who took part, and for us it was great to be able to offer holiday club sessions at the stadium.

We also worked at St Clements FC in Jersey for four days towards the end of the half-term. We enjoyed another two-day soccer school in the sunshine with their youth players, before we were involved in their summer tournament over the weekend. Our partnership with St Clements FC is one which we really enjoy, and we look forward to working with the players again over the summer holidays.

As you read this, we are completing our summer soccer school bookings which will be released really soon, so keep an eye out for those and don’t forget to pre-book your place!

For now though, the bulk of weekdays see us back in schools, delivering our Premier League Primary Stars PE lessons and also a variety of school project lessons.

Our school project lessons cover topics including internet safety, road, rail and travel safety, respect and finally healthy lifestyles. All of the project lessons are one hour workshops, which can be tailored to suit children of all ages and are offered completely free of charge to schools.

If you are interested in receiving any of our school project lessons either this term, or after the summer holidays, please get in touch via my email address [email protected].

AFC Bournemouth Girls Teams Trials

Trials for the AFC Bournemouth Under-10, 12, 14 and 16 girls youth teams will take place at Canford 3G on Wednesday 5th June. If you would like to register your daughter in these trials please contact David Staddon, [email protected].

Milton Abbey Residential Training Camp

We are still taking bookings for this August’s Milton Abbey Residential Training Camp. The two-day course is open to all boys and girls aged 7-14 years old and the cost of £115 includes overnight accommodation, meals and the unique AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust kit package.

Mini-Cherries

After taking a short break due to the half-term holidays, our Mini-Cherries football sessions return this week.

Football sessions for boys and girls aged 1-3 years old take place 10.30-11.30am, on Wednesday mornings at the Branksome Centre and 10.30-11.30am on Thursday mornings at The Shack. You can just turn up and play at any of our sessions, and it costs just £2 per week to play.
