Cherries Community Fund distribute June donations

AFC Bournemouth's Cherries Community Fund has recently donated over £11,000 into the local community in the latest panel of donations.

The following donations have been awarded to local causes in the area:

£1,000 donated to Access Dorset to provide new tables and chairs at the ‘Horizon Café’ the café provides work opportunities for individuals who have a range of disabilities, the new chairs and tables will be much easier for the staff to manage as they go about their day to day work.

£1,000 donated to Holton Lee Spinal Injuries Unit for Virtual Reality goggles which will help their patients with recovery.

£1,000 donated to the Bournemouth War Memorial Homes Garden Project, they will be turning their gardens into a communal space that is easily accessible for the residents made up of ex- service men and women.

£1,000 donated to Cranborne FC to purchase new shelters to replace their unfit for use ones.

£915.88 donated to SAMEE Charity to purchase a new branded gazebo, this will allow disabled entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services at events.

£1,000 donated to Life Education Wessex for their ‘Life Box’ this is a portable array of classroom materials used to enhance children’s learning in a fun and interactive way.

£750 given to Prama Life to purchase a ‘Silver Song Music Box’ which plays and projects tunes (with a database of over 20,000 to choose from!) that encourage people to sing. Many people with dementia and memory loss 'come alive' when given the chance to sing a tune recollect from the past.

£1,000 donated MyTime who support young carers in the area, the money will be used to run craft events to allow the children to have some much-needed relaxation and fun away from their day to day responsibilities.

£1,000 donated to Julia’s House to fund their upcoming siblings trip to Avon Tyrell, New Forest.

£1,000 will help fund the ‘Life Changing Choices’ project which will run free boxing sessions to young people from ethnic minority groups.

£1,000 donated to the Pokesdown Community Forum to install CCTV cameras to protect their community spaces.

£1,000 donated to 34th Bournemouth Scouts to purchase a new minibus.

The total donated from this panel is £11,666 meaning an overall total since the fund started of £95,765 has been given to worthy causes!
