Apply for a Cherries Community Fund donation

AFC Bournemouth were pleased to welcome the recent recipients of Cherries Community Fund donations to Vitality Stadium for their large cheque presentation photo alongside the dedicated panel.

The panel is made up of chairman Jeff Mostyn, head of community Steve Cuss and first team player Marcus Tavernier, with the trio in charge of picking worthy recipients on a quarterly basis.

The Cherries Community Fund would now welcome applications for donations which will continue across the year, with several worthy causes benefiting from the fund since it started in January 2016. A total of £176,257.80 has been handed out in that time.

The money raised for the fund comes from the matchday draw tickets sold at Vitality Stadium, as well as from the matchday auctions in the hospitality suites.

The fund has helped a wide variety of projects in the local area, including helping several football clubs purchase kit and equipment, local schools purchasing specialist equipment and a variety of community projects including street safety. It has also aided adults with learning difficulties, as well as helping to sustain various support groups for the homeless across Bournemouth.

The excellent work and charitable donations will continue throughout the 2022/23 campaign as the panel will meet quarterly in 2022. Panels are scheduled in March, June, September and December to distribute more funds back into the local community.

The next panel meeting will be in December 2022, so applications received by the end of November will be reviewed. Applications are still welcomed after this date for the subsequent panel meetings.
