During August, a selection of young carers who work with AFC Bournemouth’s charity partner MYTIME, donned their chef hats in a bid to create a cook book.

Prior to visiting Vitality Stadium, the young people had spent time with MYTIME staff planning their favourite meals ready to make.

Over two days, the youngsters worked with catering operations supervisor Vernon Howard, who showed them around the kitchen and helped to bring their creations to life.

They were joined by AFC Bournemouth academy scholars, who worked in groups to assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of recipes.

MYTIME are a local charity who aim to provide support for young carers wherever there is a need. The organisation has been a club charity partner across the 2021/22 season and continues to work alongside AFC Bournemouth for the 22/23 campaign.

The cook book will be on sale in the build up to Christmas and will help to raise vital funds for MYTIME.

Speaking about the event, MYTIME's Level Up Programme Coordinator Laura shared her delight at its success.

“MYTIME and eight of our young carers had a fantastic two days at AFC Bournemouth creating a recipe calendar. The young carers had a brilliant experience and enjoyed working in a professional kitchen with a professional chef to learn new skills.

"All the staff were warm and welcoming, and a tour of the stadium was an added bonus! Here at MYTIME we are grateful for the opportunity to work collaboratively with AFC Bournemouth to support young carers."
