Last weekend, AFC Bournemouth Ability Counts Under 12s welcomed Chamberlayne AFC U12 Disability team to the Vitality Stadium.

Both teams joined together in the morning for a tour of Vitality Stadium, taking a look at the dressing rooms and press facilities, before getting to sit in the home dugout and run out of the tunnel onto the pitch like the AFC Bournemouth players.

Following their tour, all the players, coaches and many spectators made their way around the stadium to get ready for some six-a-side friendly matches on the 3G Training Pitches.

Three games were played overall, with some great football on show from both teams.

AFC Bournemouth debutant Ella Litchfield had a great first game, wearing the new Cathedral City Sponsored kit. She was able to get a few shots on target but Chamberlayne goalkeeper Liam put in a brilliant performance to deny her a goal to open her tally!

A great passing move between AFC Bournemouth’s Arun Dove and Ethan Burney was capped with a sweet strike from the latter in the second game.

Chamberlayne’s Tyler then went on a run through the AFC Bournemouth defence to score in the bottom corner past the outstretched arm of Cherries ‘keeper Bradley Singleton.

The final game was a very even affair, with some great defending from Chamberlayne AFC’s Josh and AFC Bournemouth’s Finley Smith. To round off the day, the teams took part in a penalty shoot-out, before being presented with their medals.

Katy Shephard, Ability Counts Co-Ordinator, shared her thoughts on the day following its conclusion.

“All the players from both teams enjoyed a great day, with the games being played in the best possible spirits.”
